All Kind Outdoors — Vision & Seasons

My name is Cyrus Crews. I’ve been an angler, spearfisherman, surfer, and now an upland bird hunting enthusiast for as long as I can remember.  I grew up in Maui, Hawaii, where the ocean shaped the foundation of my life. From an early age, I learned that adventure isn’t something you schedule — it’s something you live. Whether chasing fish offshore, diving reefs, or surfing at first light, the outdoors became part of my identity long before I ever imagined building a brand around it.

At 17, I left Maui to pursue college and competitive swimming, beginning the next chapter of life in 1994. After college, my path eventually led me to Indonesia, where I spent much of my early adulthood from 1999 to 2015. Living abroad deepened my appreciation for wild places, self-reliance, and the pursuit of meaningful experiences outdoors.

In 2015, I returned to the United States and eventually found home in Truckee, California. After more than a decade in the Sierra, I can confidently say I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. Truckee is a rare place where mountains, water, seasons, and adventure all intersect. While the ocean still runs deep in my DNA, Lake Tahoe sits in my backyard, and the Pacific is always within reach when it’s time to reconnect with the saltwater side of life.

Today, I spend my time chasing adventure year-round alongside my best friend Kani — a young Bracco Italiano pup, and an exceptional bird-finding companion. Together, our travels span much of the American West: from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest for ocean fishing, and from the Sierra Nevada through the Great Basin for rivers, lakes, and public-land upland bird hunting.  For wild birds, the pursuit has taken me across California, Nevada, Montana, South Dakota, and Iowa. The miles behind those experiences are real, and so is the preparation. These pursuits are built on scouting, weather, timing, persistence, and an understanding that meaningful days outdoors are earned long before the hunt or the cast begins.

In the 2025 season alone, I hunted more than 70 days, spent over 20 nights base-camped in the field, shared camps with good friends, and hunted 54 different locations across five states. Those experiences reinforced something I’ve believed for years: a great camp can elevate the entire experience.

Every season and every weather system opens the door to a different kind of adventure. Over time, I’ve learned how to build camps that are practical, comfortable, restorative, and designed to help people recover after long days outdoors — camps that support the pursuit while still creating a sense of home in remote places.

That philosophy sits at the heart of All Kind Outdoors.  This brand is built around the idea that adventure should feel authentic, grounded, and deeply connected to the places we explore. Whether fishing remote waters, hunting wild birds, or simply spending nights under the stars, the goal is always the same: create experiences that leave people feeling restored, inspired, and ready to wake up and do it all again the next morning.

At All Kind Outdoors, the standard is simple:

Pursue deeply. Camp rested. Respect wild places. Share good experiences.

And always leave room for the next adventure.
